Fifth letter: to the angel of Sardis
Revelation 3: 1 – 6
And to the angel of the community of Sardis write: These things says he that has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars:
He that overcomes shall be clothed in white raiment. And I will never blot out his name out of the Book of Life. And I will confess his name before the countenance of my Father and for the face of his angels. He that has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the communities.
I know your works, that you have a name that you live, and you are dead.
Wake up and strengthen what is left that is alive and nearly dies: for I have not found your works of full value before my God.
But you have a few names in Sardis which have not defiled their garment. And they shall walk with me in white garments, for they are worthy.
Remember therefore, how you have received it and heard it. And preserve it and change your inclination! If you do not awaken now, I will come on you as a thief. And you will not know what hour I will come upon you.
