Het Lam neemt het verzegelde boek

Openbaring 5: 1 – 14

I saw in the right of him, that sits on the throne, a book, written within and on the outside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel, proclaiming with a loud voice: Who is worthy to open the book, and to break open its seals? And no man in heaven, nor on earth, neither under earth, was able to open the book , neither to look therein.

And I beheld and I heard the voices of many angels round about the throne, and the living beings and the elders; and the number of them ten thousand times ten thousands, and thousand times thousands; saying with a loud voice: Worthy is the Lamb, that was slaughtered, to receive world power, and riches, and wisdom, and the strength of the I, and the worthiness of the soul, and the light of the spirit and the force of lifegiving blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, everywhere, heard I saying: The force of the blessing, and the worthiness of the soul , and the light of the spirit and the power to lead be unto him that sits on the throne and unto the Lamb from aeons to aeons! And the four living beings said: Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him.

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open the book, neither to look therein. And one of the elders says to me: Weep not, behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the sprout from the root of David, has prevailed to open the book and its seven seals.

And they sing a new hymn of praise and say: You are worthy to take that book and to open the seals thereof, for you were slaugtered, and has redeemed of God by your blood man of every kindred , and tongue, and people, and nation, and has made them for our God to a kingdom and to priests. And king you will be in course of time on the Earth.

And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four beings and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb, standing, looking as being slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent forth into all the Earth. And he came and took the book out of the right of him which sat upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beings and the four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb. Everyone of them had harps, and golden vials full of incence, which are the prayers of the saints.
